The Apple iPhone are a sequence of smartphones completely
designed and promoted
by Apple. Steve
Jobs unveiled the first iPhone on January 9, 2007. The operating
system developed by Apple is known as iOS which was released for iPod’s and
iPhones. It does not require license for the installation of operating systems
as it is inbuilt. It supports 650,000 applications that are collectively
downloaded.
Their apps have diversified functions
including GPS navigation, games, references, security and social networking. It
can also function like a video camera, portable media players, internet with
web and email browsing capabilities, 3G and Wi-Fi access. Their user interfaces are built on multi
touch facilities including the virtual keyboard. There are 5 generation models
of iPhones where the original one was a simple GSM model phone.
The established design is persisted
throughout all the models excepting for the button replacement and its screen
size. The later models carry a fast processor with high resolution camera and a
video recorder at 480p. It has a front end camera and a rear end camera to
support apps like Skype. The touch screen is scratch resistant with liquid
crystal surface for single touch and multi touch options.
The third generation phone is the
iPhone 3G consisting of greater performances, higher resolution camera, and
voice control with support of 7.2Mbit/s downloading facility. The touch is
generally controlled by the user’s fingertip and the screen has a resolution of
320x480 HVGA. It combines the specialties of a mobile phone, the internet and
